Asymmetry in Binary Vesicles

Curvature-induced asymmetry in cholesterol flip-flop and phase behavior of DPPC/cholesterol vesicles

In small vesicles, the high curvature makes the inner and outer leaflets differ in area and lipid packing. Using coarse-grained MARTINI simulations of DPPC/cholesterol vesicles, I study how this curvature induces asymmetry in cholesterol flip-flop dynamics and phase behavior between the two leaflets.
